UTAG – Every time you Ride Out, Make Sure You have it On You!

There are many safety devices out there specially designed for riders but nothing like the UTAG by Bike.it (http://www.burnoutitaly.com/utag-usb), that lets you store your medical and personal information and is the most reliable piece of device that you may save your life when you can’t speak for yourself.

The roads or the trails sometimes are too rough and riding them too precarious. And even with the best of the helmet and racing suit on you, you may still be vulnerable to a swerve or a slip that may result in consequences that nobody wants to imagine. In such scenarios, the device you could rely on with all your medical and personal information is the UTAG. This device will ensure that there are no margins for errors when medical treatment is given.

Let’s introduce you to the UTAG (this may become your most prized possession):
UTAG is a usb device in which you can store all the important medical information – such as the blood group, contacts in time of the emergency, information about your doctor, medical insurance and lots more.

In order to enter information, all you need to do is plug the UTAG into a usb port on a windows computer and fill in all your essential medical and personal details. A software will open which would need to be launched into your system and synced before you can start entering the details. Know how to install the information here: http://www.burnoutitaly.com/utag-usb

You can enter information in the boxes relevant to you and leave the ones that are not related or you don’t want to share with other people. You can also mention the relationship with the people whose names and numbers you have given in the emergency contacts, allergies to food stuffs, chemicals, medicines, etc. in case you are allergic to anything.

Accidents can happen to the best of the riders and even in the safest of conditions. And no matter how experienced or well trained you are, if you are not covered or concerned about your own safety, you may have to face repercussions. With UTAG, you are prepared for the worst case scenario!

Keep your medical and personal information in tact with the UTAG usb – this may be the chip that can assure your safety in times you need it the most.

Top 5 Motorcycle Movies of All Times!

They Came, Throttled & Drove into Our Hearts Forever

Remember when Gael Garcia Bernal with his boyish looks and innocent face played Che Guevara motorcycling across the South American continent? Or When Tom Cruise cruised into our hearts when he set the box office on fire back in 2000 in Mission Impossible II as he rode in front of an explosion on 2 wheels?

Yes, we are talking about the throttle that twisted your hearts and pumped the same adrenalin into your blood that was shown on the big screen! Loved the movies that showcased the two-wheeled darings; we loved them too and are bringing for you our top 5! Now we know that every rider is different and just as each one likes a different ride, they would like a different biking story. So your choice may be different from ours but we are sure that these top 5 would feature in your list somewhere, if not in the first 10 or may be 15 but somewhere yes!

Let’s get to the list without further delay and go down memory lane on two-wheels. The list is in no particular preference order:

1. The Motorcycle Diaries (2004) – Now this movie blends in two great things of the world – Bikes & Che Guevara – the doctor-turned-revolutionary who went down history as an iconoclast. The movie presents Che’s life before he became a rebel. Driving the Norton 500 motorcycle through the Latin American continent, Gael Garcia portrays the young Che Guevara in the movie which was released in 2004. It did as much for South America’s tourism as it did to renew interest in this international cult figure. Catch the trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6jz_b80V5g

2. Faster (2003) – This MotoGP documentary is a first of its kind to showcase how it actually feels like riding and living in the fast lane – riding a 500 cc bike is no joke. Titled most appropriately, this movie is a perfect film for anyone itching to get behind the scenes of the moto-racing world championship. With an adrenalin-filled cinematography and well documented sequences, this movie digs deep into the world of competition and Moto championships. Our Italian fans will love the feature on Valentino Rossi. Know the answers to the ‘whys’ here and what does it take for the fastest man to ride the fastest bike: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEMmKyR11yM

3. ChopperTown: The Sinners – Documentary yet again but one that takes you behind the engine of the powerful two-wheelers. This movie is not only about motorcycle or custom bikes built by the riders themselves but also about the true-blue biking spirit and culture that gears up and rides off whenever and wherever. Biker brotherhood is looked at in this movie from a different perspective which lead this movie to win a whole lot of awards. Choppertown keeps coming up with new movies and has its Youtube channel at: http://www.youtube.com/user/choppertown?feature=watch

4. Tron Legacy 3D (2010) – From the customized choppers to the digitized motorcycle – let’s get talking about Tron! This movie is truly a legacy and it has something for every biker who is dreaming of the superfast, lightcycles of the 22nd century. The day is not far my fellow rider, when the radioactive two-wheels will be under you and not just on the 3D screen. Not the 1982 Tron which was a code breaker in its own regard but the 2010 3D extravaganza that has everyone hooked, relive it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9szn1QQfas

And the last (there’s no saving the best one for the last, as all of them are amazing in their own content and regard but this one is sure interesting!)

5. Easy Rider (1969) – One of the cult films of the 1960s which was neither easy to take it in your stride nor a regular run of the mill biker movie. It brought home questions that main-streamers shrugged off and the counter culture rebels loved to ask. The movie was awarded the best movie at the Cannes festival and brought to fore how freedom feels like and what does it represent.
44 years ago, this wasn’t really an Easy Ride at all for some: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwST6mpT7Ds

Of course there are so many others biker movies and the scenes which we can’t get out of our minds – one of the recent ones coming to mind is Anne Hathaway’s stunning stint on the bike in The Dark Knight Rises.

Motivates us to do another post on women riders in cinema. We might just do it.

Until then, lap this up!

Motorcycle Diaries – Ride. Love. Live

0e8bc0c562965561d7ffb0d465008298

You get up, laze around in the house, get ready for the day, with only one bright light spark on that otherwise bleak horizon.

What is that? The fact that you will ride your amazing motorcycle to your destination.

If you’re a rider, then you will know the feeling when you get on that seat and feel the beast come alive. The steadily rising rumble of the engine, the grinding of the tires against asphalt, and the wind whipping against your face. It is this experience that motorcycle riders live for. And it is simply inexplicable.

Zipping through the streets at speeds that the others will only have heard about, stopping only for a cup of coffee, or for something that catches the eye

You reach your destination. Get off your motorcycle amidst a crowd of gaping people, all looking at you and your beloved. Some jealous, some simply dazzled by its sheer beauty. But the happiest and proudest is you. You secure the motorcycle, check all locks, make sure it will be completely safe and walk to your office or wherever your stop is.

You check up on your motorcycle frequently, till it is time to go back home. You relish the feeling of getting back on your bike once again, and zip off back home or detour.

You have s special designated place for your motorcycle. You polish it, clean it thoroughly until you are satisfied, and then make sure it will be completely safe for the night before making your way inside; already thinking of the next day when you will ride it once again.

That feeling. Between all riders, is the same.

We leave you with this quote, which aptly summarizes that feeling: Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.

Protect your eyes while riding motorcycles

Spy Optic Whip Tony Cairoli Goggles

Spy Optic Whip Tony Cairoli Goggles

With our eyes, we see the amazing & beautiful things the world has to offer, enjoy all the sights of mother nature and convey so many things. And of course, ride our beloved motorcycles.

The eyes and the area around them is very sensitive and vulnerable. Constant irritation or harm to the eyes can cause some serious permanent damage. Especially while riding a motorcycle, extra efforts must be made to keep the eyes protected. Have you ever tried riding a bike without having any sort of eye protection? If you have, then you will know that your eyes are exposed to so many different (and hurtful) elements such as the wind, dust particles and all sorts of things. A rogue insect or fly might also hit you. If in case your eyes are not protected, think of the disastrous consequences this might lead to, an accident, your eyes getting damaged and what not.

All this can be avoided by a simple pair of Goggles. I don’t mean sunglasses because while sunglasses are excellent protection from the glaring sun, they won’t be much useful during the night or in cloudy weather. Also, sunglasses are open on the sides, which means lesser protection. A pair of Goggles is a must for every motorcycle rider. A pair of Goggles will keep your eyes safe and protected at all times, in rain, dust and all kinds of weather. You just simply snap them on and ride on any of your trails.

At Burn Out Italy, we are committed to bring the best to you, and make your motorcycle riding experience as comfortable as possible. And nothing is better then the Goggles from Spy to protect your eyes. Spy is a leading brand in manufacturing eyewear, ranging from sunglasses to the best goggles you will find. We bring to you, the Spy Optic Whip Tony Cairoli Goggles. With Features such as scratch-resistant lenses and ergonomic foam, making them one of the best.

Don’t dilly-dally and get the best protection for your eyes today!

The Most Dangerous & Difficult Racing Circuits Ever

You are sitting, amongst the crowd, and you can feel the excitement charging up the air. And then suddenly, Wham! One careless mistake, one wrong turn and the rider crashes.

When they say that Motorcycle Racing is dangerous, they are not kidding. It is, in fact, very dangerous. Breakneck speeds and two wheels is not a very safe combination. But it is a passion for some, who are out there, risking their lives each day, for that adrenaline rush that propels them towards victory.

It is not just the motorcycles and high speeds that make motorcycle racing dangerous. The Race Track also has a huge hand in making this sport dangerous. And there are some circuits that are considered the most dangerous ones. And they live up to their titles. We bring to you, the three most dangerous racing circuits, in no particular order.

1. Isle of Man

Isle of Man Map - Courtesy Google Images

A small island off the coast of Britain, this island has one of the oldest Race tracks in the world and also the most dangerous, the Snaefell Mountain Course. This racetrack is also home to the most prestigious of motorcycle races, the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (TT). Driven by the passion to gain glory and win in the absolute pinnacle of motorcycle races, all sensible thoughts are left behind by the racers. With just the end in sight, they push harder and harder until they win. And adding fuel to this dangerous fire are the dangerous courses on the Isle of Man. If bikers are not speeding along on the Snaefell Mountain Course and its single track country lanes, then they are coursing through the narrow streets, with stone buildings flanking either side. Which means there is absolutely no room for error. Because if you err, you are either falling off a cliff, or crashing into a stone building.

2. Nürburgring - Germany

Nurburgring- Germany - Image Courtesy Google Images

The Nürburgring was built as the first racing track for Germany, widely known as “The Green Hell”. Surrounded by a forest, with winding uphill and downhill roads and sharp curves testing the nerve of every racer setting foot on this track. The original track had 4 configurations, each notorious for its own level of danger. Changing weather and punishing roads made up for exciting races on “The Ring”. Imagine racing down a steep slope, at a speed unimaginable, and it starts to rain. There is no room for errors on the Nürburgring.

3. Guia Circuit - Macau Grand Prix

Guia Circuit - Macau - Image Courtesy Google Images

The Macau Grand Prix stands today as the only street circuit racing event. The Guia Circuit is where the Fast Paced action of the Macau Grand Prix takes place. And it is as dangerous as any of the circuits mentioned above. And just as unforgiving. Known for its unique combination of motorcycle and car races held within the same race weekend, this circuit has also remained untouched, with no modifications to the track since its inception. A long straight stretch and deadly tight corners make this street circuit notoriously famous. Considered as one of the most challenging and difficult circuits in the racing world, cars & motorcycles, with limited overtaking opportunities, straight stretches and twisting roads and corners, all in one. It has to be a brave heart and fearless mind that can race on the Guia Circuit.
